This course provides students with the cultural background to the development of Thai massage, and a deep understanding of the theory and practice of this ancient form of therapy. Thai massage has its roots in Ayurvedic medicine and incorporates pressure massage together with assisted yoga-like deep stretches and twists.
Introductory weekend followed by a further 9 days (11 days in total) over a period of 10 weeks.
Students are expected to develop and maintain a portfolio of work, including assignments and detailed case studies, throughout the course which will be assessed regularly by the tutor. Ongoing assessment of practical skills will also take place.
Students must be qualified massage therapists or be a health-related professional (physiotherapists, osteopath, personal trainer, etc).
