The Reflexology Professional Practitioner Diploma is an integrated course incorporating anatomy & physiology, integrated biology, business practice and reflexology skills. It is designed to enable graduates to confidently take their place alongside other healthcare professionals. Throughout the training the focus is on providing a caring, friendly and supportive environment in which participants may explore the concepts of holism and interconnectedness, while developing the practical and interpersonal skills necessary to become an effective therapist.
The aims of the course are:
Topics comprehensively covered include history, theory and philosophy of reflexology, concepts of energy medicine in conjunction with the study of Chinese meridian theory and Indian chakra theory; the correspondence of reflex points on the feet to areas of the body: practical reflexology skills. Students will learn how to interpret signs in relation to common ailments as symptoms of imbalance while developing sensitive tactile skills. Integral biology will be covered, and students will be supported while they develop basic listening and responding skills while accessing a deep understanding of the importance of the therapeutic relationship.. We investigate other forms of complementary therapy, together with the basic business skills necessary to set up your own practice. All of the learning is guided by the Code of Practice and Ethics as defined by the Association of Reflexologists. By the end of the course the student will be confident in their ability to practice holistically and competently, using their skills and qualification in whichever area of work to which they are drawn.
The course is delivered one weekend a month (Saturday & Sunday) over ten months.
Students are expected to develop and maintain a portfolio of work, including assignments and detailed case studies covering 60 hours of treatments, which will be assessed regularly by the tutor. Ongoing assessment of practical skills will also take place.
